Custom Work FAQ
Are you open to comissions?
Yes! Let's talk!
How do I get a custom piece made?
To begin a custom order please use the contact form and let me know as much as you can about what you're looking for. Size, color, inspiration images, timeline and budget. Once we begin the design stage, I require a non-refundable design fee of 20% of the estimated cost. This allows me to be compensated for my time in designing your work which often requires multiple rounds of edits.
Two edits are included in this fee, alongside detailed correspondance about the estimated cost and turnaround time. I am more than happy to redesign work in accordance with your budget and to come up with a payment plan if needed.
About how much will custom work cost?
My current rate for custom work is between $3 and $5 per square inch. Price can slide considerably depending on detail level, glass choice, indoor vs outdoor windows and timeline.
Do you do installation?
My expertise is making the thing that goes IN the window, not necessarily building or repairing wooden windows themselves. I am happy to offer a $40 per hour install fee if it is work I am comfortable doing myself. However, if the installation involves something trickier like getting on a roof or aging window restoration, I have a number of professional contacts who I can contract for the job.
Will you make this thing I saw on another glass artist's site?
All of the work I do is 100% from my own unique design. I am open to being sent inspiration images, however if I feel that the comission leans too far outside of my personal style, I will do my best to point you to another artist that might be a better fit. Working with me means you get... me!
