How do I get a custom piece made?

To begin a custom order please use the contact form and let me know as much as you can about what you're looking for. Once we begin the design stage, I require a non-refundable design fee of a minumum of $175 (subject to change depending on the scale of the project). This allows me to be compensated for my time in designing your work, which I take very seriously. 

Two rounds of edits are included in this fee, alongside detailed correspondance about the estimated cost and turnaround time. It is definitely very important for you to be upfront about your deadlines, structural concerns and your own personal budget and expectations. If my style or schedule is not going to be the best fit I am happy to recommend other artists. I am more than happy to redesign work in accordance with your budget and to come up with an interest-free payment plan if needed.

About how much will custom work cost?

In addition to the design fee, my work will usually be priced according to square foot with consideration for detail level and nuber of individual glass pieces that will need to be cut. My current rate is between $150-200 per square foot, again, depending on the detail level. 

Will you make this thing I saw on another glass artist's site? 

All of the work I do is 100% from my own unique design. I am open to being sent inspiration images, however if I feel that the comission leans too far outside of my personal style, I will do my best to point you to another artist that might be a better fit. Working with me means you get... me!

Will you make another one of that thing you made last month?

I really love that much of my work, even though it's often made in a similar series, is one of a kind. I am happy to make you a *close cousin* of a previous piece and totally willing to take color/composition suggestions. This kind of comission will likely not need to involve a contract but will require payment up front and a 20% upcharge for the custom design. For example, the $25 mushroom design is $30 when customized.
